Ana Dias Amaral was born in Porto in 1988. With family roots in the Trás-os-Montes region, the love for nature and the outdoors has accompanied her since childhood. In recent years, she began studying and observing birds, and was quickly captivated by the fascinating world of these living beings. As a photography enthusiast, she has also dedicated herself to photographing wild birds in their natural habitats, sharing the results on her Instagram page (@ana_the_bird_detective). Writing has been a much older pastime, and now comes the opportunity to combine birds with writing. A mother of two, she dreams that her children will also continue to share this passion for the natural world. She holds a Master’s degree in Medicine and works as a psychiatrist at the Portuguese Oncology Institute in Porto.
