Ana Botelho

Ana Botelho, originally from Lisbon, found in Aveiro the perfect setting for her art to blossom. It was through birdwatching that her interest in drawing and painting was rekindled, like a call that led her back to her passion for nature. The fusion of art and science motivated her to pursue a scientific illustration course, where she deepened her fundamental knowledge to capture the natural world with precision and sensitivity. Her artistic soul lies in the world of watercolors, gouaches, and oils, materials with which Ana feels most at ease bringing her works to life. Recently, she has dedicated herself to direct observation drawing, exploring the unique beauty of landscapes and still life. Her main ambition is to paint birds directly in the field, capturing them in full freedom and movement within their natural habitats. Ana’s work is a true celebration of wildlife and the art of observation, with many of her illustrations and paintings available on her Instagram page (@birdcolours). Each brushstroke reflects her passion and dedication, transforming the ephemeral into immortalized art.
