Assistant Professor at the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro and researcher at GOVCOPP. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Aveiro and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Design from the University of Porto. He was the Director of the Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning (2016–2020). He founded the Planning and Public Policy Laboratory, which was awarded the UA2023 Cooperation distinction. He has been involved in several national and international research projects on place-based participatory planning and has been promoting various civic initiatives in support of cities and citizenship.
