
Victor Bandeira
Victor Bandeira holds a degree in Biology, a master’s in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management, and a PhD in Biology and Ecology of Global Changes. He is the author or co-author of dozens of scientific publications, four books, six book chapters, dozens of oral and poster presentations, and technical-scientific reports in the field of biodiversity conservation, with an emphasis on mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. He has supervised dozens of research, internship, and/or master’s students, and has taught several course components, including Zoology – Animal Behavior, Mammals of Portugal, Field Biology, Biology, Evolution and Diversity I, Laboratory and Field in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management I, Bioethics, and Transferable Skills in Life Sciences.
His research interests include wildlife ecology, population dynamics of threatened and game species, the effects of global changes on biodiversity, mammalogy, herpetology, in-situ and ex-situ conservation, habitat restoration, and taxonomy. As a biologist and technical coordinator, he has also worked in zoological institutions and collaborated on several projects related to biodiversity and nature conservation, participated in various science communication initiatives, and served as a scientific reviewer and field assistant in several scientific documentaries.
