CERVAS

The Center for Ecology, Recovery and Surveillance of Wild Animals (CERVAS) is located in Gouveia and is a structure that belongs to the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela / ICNF and is managed by Associação ALDEIA, with the support of ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, Fundo Ambiental and other partners. The main objective of the center is to receive wild animals of protected native species, injured and/or weakened, with the aim of recovering and returning them to Nature. In parallel, projects of research, monitoring and surveillance of wild fauna are carried out, as well as Environmental Education activities, contributing to a greater knowledge of the population about Biodiversity.
