João Nunes da Silva

João Nunes da Silva is a freelance nature photographer and journalist. In addition to the four books on Portuguese nature that he has already published, he has also produced photographic exhibitions on the same theme, with some of his photographs having been awarded prizes. Parallel to his activity as a photojournalist, he created the image bank Ilustranatur, specialized in photography of Portuguese nature, and carried out several photographic surveys on the natural and historical heritage for entities such as Águas de Portugal, Região de Turismo de Aveiro, APCOR – Associação Portuguesa da Cortiça, Lisbon City Council, Herdade da Comporta and Diocesan Museum of Santarém, among others. He was responsible for creating an extensive bank of photographic images on natural, historical and archaeological heritage, covering the eleven municipalities of CIM-Tâmega e Sousa. Abroad, he has worked with entities such as the European Forum on Nature Conservation & Pastoralism, RSPB & Society for Caribbean Ornithology, UK Overseas Territories Conservation Forum and Archmain.
